Our Story

My husband, Vance, enjoyed woodworking from a young age. He learned all he could from a neighbor who built custom cabinets. Vance continued to love the process and used those skills to make beautiful projects.
Fast forward to the winter of 2015: Vance and his dad started by cutting down many of the ash trees that had already died on the family tree farm. From there, his passion for trees and their usefulness only grew. His dream of creating even more amazing projects out of local wood was becoming a reality.
After purchasing a Wood-Mizer sawmill in 2018, Vance and I began the process of creating the bigger dreams he had always envisioned. I was by his side as he cut down many more trees. We worked together from start to finish, producing all the wood for the flooring, cabinets, and trim in our home.
In July 2021, Vance passed away and entered his Heavenly home. Vance’s dreams had certainly become mine through the countless hours of working together in the woods, at the sawmill, and in the woodshop. Working side by side with Vance, I could not help but find the same passion for trees and their usefulness. I am now running the sawmill and working in the woodshop. Even though my heart hurts without him, I feel a sense of peace that he is still right next to me as I continue to do the very thing he loved.
